Sr. Technical Consultant 50

Overview

The Sr. Technical Consultant will provide on-site technical support, analysis and guidance for a large U. S. Government customer around our company’s technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and consulting to the government customer;
  
• Participate in technical requirements gathering and assist in documenting customer business-level requirements;
  
• Relay the status of the customers technical issues and concerns accurately to  the Project team;
  
• Investigate problems in the customer production and test environments. This includes analyzing error logs, trouble-shooting network problems, and writing diagnostic test tools;
  
• Provide the customer with technical guidance around company technology;
  
• Identify customer product needs and communicate them to the project team;
  
• Create and maintain a strong positive working relationship with the customer.
  
• Provide product installation support and training;
  
• Attend technical meetings with the customer;
  
• Conduct system level performance analysis;
  
• Provide support for customer acceptance test activities;
  
• Provide technical input for company responses to customer enhancement and change requests;
  
• Manager will assign additional duties as needed.

Requirements

• Strong technical background with hands-on software development experience;
  
• Security background including PKI, CA, x.509 certificates, symmetric cryptography (e.g., DES) and smart cards;
  
• In-depth knowledge of network design and operations, including expertise with network protocols and analyzer tools;
  
• Experience with both Microsoft Windows and Unix development/target environments:
  
• Strong skills in C, C++, and Java;
  
• Experience in development of web-based (Sun ONE web server preferred) multi-tier products;
  
• Ability to create and maintain successful customer relationships;
  
• Must be a self starter and able to work independently with minimum guidance;
  
• Strong database background with very large-scale deployments desired;
  
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience;
  
• 5+ years direct industry experience;
  
• Strong communication and presentation skills;
