FIX / C++ / Unix Developer

This is a long term Consulting assignment for a FIX / C++ / Unix Developer

Technical skills needed:

Core:  FIX / C++ / Unix development and support experience. Must have strong financial services industry experience.

Our client is looking for:

*5-7 yrs of development (and support) of applications integrating with vendor or home-grown FIX engine.

*C++ (OO) development skills

*Linux/Unix platform; shell scripting is a plus

*Some level of SQL/DB (Sybase/Oracle) skills is helpful

Scope:

Project involves development and support. 50/50 now, but soon to go to 75% dev/25% support since basic/1st level support will be passed off to another team shortly.

Work is for an ECN (equities) group. Will handle booking issues for trading order flow.

Work with internal clients in gathering requirements, develop solutions, provide support.

Candidate needs a demonstrated knowledge of equities.

Plus skills/background:

*front-to-end’ systems/flow – equities & derivatives products - FI, options, futures, swaps. Also, not just execution, but clearing, settlements, etc.”
