The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grummans The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grummans TFIN Support Services project which provides network and data center operations and management, help desk support and software application maintenance for the Treasury Foreign Intelligence Network (TFIN). TFIN provides classified desktop applications, electronic mail and access to classified messages/cables. Roles and Responsibilities: * Provide operations, user and system troubleshooting for systems supporting 150 users in a Windows 2003 Active Directory and Windows XP environment. * System administration, system backups, administering a custom message processing and retrieval system, and monitoring system servers and networks. * Support Microsoft Office application suite * Provide status metrics to Government customer and Northrop Grumman management. * Provide Tier 3 support and troubleshooting of network and system problems. * Provide on-call after-hours and weekend support on a rotational basis. * Maintain and extend expertise in applicable areas of network and computer hardware and software technology to enhance infrastructure. Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: * Bachelors * 10 years IT experience; 8 years with a Masters degree * 3 years experience in a classified environment performing system administration, support and troubleshooting activities * Knowledge of and experience with Windows 2000/2003 Server and/or Windows XP Pro * Must be able to work independently and be an excellent troubleshooter * Must be able to lift and install equipment. * Experience with one or more of the following enterprise system management tools: Zenoss, HEAT, Remedy, HP Openview, Tivoli Netview, Microsoft Operations Manager, Veritas backup, Altiris/LanDesk. * Customer interface skills are a must. Good written and communication skills. * Position requires a current TS/SCI Clearance Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration: * CCNA, or other MS certifications * Microsoft MCSE certifications * Windows 2008 experience * UNIX/Linux experience * Virtualization (VMWare) experience * SharePoint experience and expertise * RetrievalWare experience * Juniper experience * Perl scripting expertise * Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange * Basic Cisco router and switch configuration. * Knowledge of Wide Area Network technologies. * Knowledge of Local Area Network technologies such as Ethernet, wireless LAN as well as the physical media and equipment associated with each. * Knowledge of IP routing protocols and implementations. * Position prefers a candidate with a current TS/SCI Clearance This position is contingent upon contract award, budget, and/or customer approval.
