Growing team within a software company is seeking a software engineer.
The technical challenges this team faces are significant and qualified applicants will have at least 5-10 years of experience in performance testing successful top-quality commercial software.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of application architecture; understand the production operating environment and the ability to understand how these factors contribute to the product quality and performance. The candidate must be able to use this knowledge to construct highly concentrated scenarios and be able to target certain application areas for more intensive testing. Just as important as technical abilities are your skills at working with a team.
Essential Functions
Create, construct and execute on the Performance/Scale testing and Capacity measurement strategy
Isolate and report and resolve system bottlenecks
Isolate potential limitations in the software architecture and recommend practical solutions
Take ownership of defects found during performance testing and work closely with developers to resolve them
Build tools and testing infrastructure necessary for testing at high scale.
Build Servers, networks and labs necessary for testing.
Construction of resource and other performance models
Work with the QA team for Integrating and automating performance testing into routine QA test cycles
Analyze, interpret and publish test results and technical data in with variable levels of detail required by Development/QA and Senior Management.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Must have an in-depth knowledge of .NET environment with a strong focus on Automated Testing.
Must have an in-depth knowledge of a Windows (Windows 2008 Servers and SQL 2008). Knowledge of Mac OS would be a plus.
5-10 years of proven software development or testing experience with a solid technical background, with a focus on analysis and ability to analyze test results and summarize those results in meaningful written reports
Strong Networking and Storage background.
Exceptional organizational and self-management skills
Exceptional oral and written communication skills with proven track record to drive performance test efforts to completion
Outstanding attention to detail
Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering; MS degree desirable
