Senior Businss Analyst

The Business Analyst’s primary responsibility is to document the Information Technology needs of the business in a way that enables Systems Analysts to formulate the best functional system requirements for the situation.  The Business Analyst bridges the gap between concepts and ideas in the mind of business leaders, and IT professionals tasked with designing and building systems.  The primary deliverable of the Business Analyst is the classic “Business Requirements Document” found in most typical SDLC processes.  A business analyst works as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, document, communicate and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems. The business analyst understands business problems and data challenges within the organization and industry. The business analyst also establishes relationships within the business areas to identify opportunities and recommends projects that will enable the organization to achieve its strategic goals.


EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
•         Bachelor’s Degree required in Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. Master’s Degree in Information Systems or Masters of Business Administration desired.
•         Three – five years of technology experience in relevant technical areas.
•         Good understanding of programming structures and application design techniques.
•         Ability to write SQL queries to retrieve data from SQL-compliant databases
•         Sophisticated understanding of technology landscape and how different technologies can be applied to achieve significant business results
•         Basic understanding of major business principles, processes and technologies, plus deep understanding of business principles in one or more knowledge areas (supply chain, financials, sales, marketing, etc.)
•         High capacity for team work. Follows instructions well. Contributes ideas and leadership in team situations. Mentors Associate BAs in team situations
•         Ability to navigate a team through a complex issue to build consensus
•         Displays effective and professional written, verbal and non-verbal communication
•         Ability to present effectively to end users and managers
•         Demonstrated aptitude for creativity and complex problem-solving
•         Developing approaches to solve problems; formalizing plans to address issues
•         Strong desire to learn, grow and constantly face new challenges.


•         Analyze significant multi-departmental, core business processes and apply knowledge of best-practices to reengineer and achieve significant business objectives
•         Master and improve the SDLC, including:
o   Assist in improving analysis techniques and tailoring best practices for our organization
o   Assist in the improvement of documentation procedures and standards.
•         Learn and master the technical and business environments
•         Work with senior managers and executives as a strategic partner in achieving business goals
•         Work closely with vendors on various projects. Lead the investigation, evaluation and selection of significant integration and development vendors. Manage the vendor relationship on large projects
•         Bring creativity and problem-solving expertise to solve critical problems on  most significant projects
•         Display the highest level of professionalism in all activities. Act as a model for peers and more junior staff
•    Must have outstanding oral and written communication skills.
