The position requires a the candidtate to follow predominantly insight-driven surveillance strategy utilizing oversight in specific areas. The position requires a quality process that uses product performance requirements to ensure process capability, product quality and end-item effectiveness. The position relies on gathering a minimum set of product or process data that provides adequate visibility into the integrity of the product or process. The data may be acquired from contractor records. This position will rely heavily on evaluating planned contract deliverables and existing contractor procedures and working documents. This method of surveillance will be used for low-risk or non-critical areas of contract performance, or areas where NG has confidence in the sub-contractors performance based on the use of FAA, DOD or sub-contractor certification of adherence to approved Government processes. In addition the position will use oversight as a Quality process that uses customer-imposed product specification and process controls, such as MIL-Specifications, OEM specifications, NG specifications to direct the development and production of the product. This oversight is intrusive in that it requires gathering contractor product or process data through on-site, in-series involvement in the process. The oversight entails very detailed monitoring of the process itself. It will involves in-line involvement in an activity, principally through inspection, with review and approval authority implicit to the degree necessary to assure that a process or products key characteristics are stable and in control. The surveillance techniques which will be used for high-risk or critical aspects of contract performance. Critical sub-contract functions are the following: * Aircraft OEM specific inspections (Service Bulletins) * FAA or DOD required maintenance (Airworthiness Directives) * NG specific inspections * Preventive Maintenance * Engine and component repairs * Payload Integration to Aircraft Interfaces * Final acceptance of end product This position Requires over 15-20 years of experience with modifying business jets such as Global Express and Gulfstreams. Also exeperience in managing airworthiness and modifications of 747 aircraft. Must have experience with both DOD and FAA certification process and be familiar with the NASA airworthiness process. Senior level Maintenance, Engineering, Quality Assurance and Operations experience is required. Aviation Safety training is a plus. Requires BS Degree preferably in Aviation Engineering and 15-20 years applicable experience. Position requires deployment overseas for upto 3 months at a time. Secret Security clearance required.
