Servers, Clusters and Supercomputers for Computational
Biochemistry

Exceptional sys admins sought to manage systems and network infrastructure for a rapidly growing New York-based research project.

Successful hires will be responsible for our servers and cluster environments, including:
o One of the largest Linux clusters in the world
o High-performance multi-gigabit networks
o Massively parallel custom supercomputers
o Hundreds of terabytes of storage

Ideal candidates will have extensive knowledge of multiple LinuxlUNIX operating
systems, large installation systems administration experience, strong programming and
scripting ability, and excellent communication skills. We are prepared to reward
exceptionally well-qualified individuals with above-market compensation.

~5+ years of Systems experience are required.
~A willingness to work at our datacenter in Endicott and to take
on some standard datacenter administration tasks is required (though datacenter
administration is not the exclusive focus of this position).
~A willingness to be a hands-on contributor (not exclusively a
manager) is required.
~We strongly prefer generalists with a range of experience over
narrow specialists.
~Experience with Linux/UNIX, scientific computing, and
large-scale systems are pluses (but not required).
~Experience with Windows and security are not relevant to this
position. These skills would certainly supplement any strong generalist’s qualifications, but
it’s unlikely that we would hire folks who have worked exclusively in these areas.
~Strong academic background is a plus.
