C++ Developer, High Frequency Trading System


 


Strong C++ developer working on a high frequency systems who is currently very hands on in C++.


  


Responsibilities include:


 


Develop execution programs and libraries using C++ on Linux.


Develop trading tools for Quant traders using C++ (server and GUI).


Understand and own technology aspects of Exchange/ECN connectivity, Order Management System and High Frequency trading.


Generate ad hoc quantitative analysis for traders and senior management level to reflect market events. 


 


The person in this role must be a developer with strong experience of software development lifecycle, and design and development of GUI application and multi-tier/distributed/real-time applications. The candidate should have strong solid experience in C++, both server side and client side.  Should have a good understanding of market structure and automated trading systems. In addition to strong technical skills, the candidate must have excellent communication/interpersonal skills and the strong ability to work as a team member or independently and to work with external and internal counter parties.  To succeed in this role, the incumbent will need to like the challenges of a trading environment.


 


Requirements include:


 


Design, develop, and support automated trading systems and Exchange/ECN connectivities.


Design and develop trading tools (both GUI and server side) for internal Quant traders.


Must have ability to take a project from specifications to deployment in the SAC environment.


Understand the detail architecture and implementation of the company’s applications and systems and build and expand on top of this base.


Ability to communicate via producing documentation at all levels, client service and technical writing skills, coupled with a strong interest in further developing and integrating Trading systems knowledge with technology skills.


Strong knowledge of and experience in executing all phases of the technology life cycle, based on proven project management and testing methodologies.


Must be solid and strong in C++.  Minimum 5 years experience in C++/C on Linux/Unix.


Must have strong distributed programming experience and system programming experience. Working experience with middleware a plus.


Must have Graphical User Interface (GUI) experience. 


Must have strong experience with building libraries and server side components.


Working experience of SQL/database design.


Working experience of one of the Linux/Unix scripts. Perl, bash, and etc.


Full project lifecycle experience and hands on design and development experience. Should be able to specify coding standards and lead design reviews.  Familiar with source control tool and iterative development methodology.


A deep knowledge of technical architecture design and a good understanding of technology tools and components to reasonably argue for and against all components (middleware, database, reporting tools, etc.) in that architecture.


Familiarity with US and International Equity markets.


Able to translate business requirements into technical specifications.


 


Education requirements include:


 


Dual B.S./B.A. degrees in Computer Science, or a Masters degree in Computer Science (preferred).
