Principal Transmission System Planning Engineer will be responsible for completing a variety of Bulk System Planning and Generator Interconnection and feasibility studies associated with the Forward Capacity Market (FCM) under the Tariff for Large and Small Generator Interconnection Procedure (LGIP/SGIP) administration
· Perform all related studies (load flow, stability, short circuit) related to interconnection of new units and pre-qualification of FCM resources
· Complete the necessary studies to support FCM, LGIP/SGIP, and NERC
· Develop data, assumptions, methodology and procedures for use in reliability studies of the bulk power system
· Support ISO Tariff obligations for Generator interconnections
· Performing analysis to support NEPOOL and NPCC Committees on regional transmission planning issues
Qualifications:
· BSEE, Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, power system option is required; an MSEE is preferred
· 12-15+ years experience in transmission planning or power system operations and analysis using tools including PSS/E, MUST, or PowerWorld
· Must be proficient in applying planning criteria and conducting computer simulations of bulk power system performance
· Demonstrated ability to work independently, and in a team environment with minimal supervision
· Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
· Professional Engineer License (PE) is highly desirable
