JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for managing the Verizon Business Program Management Office (PMO) practice. The PMO consists of multiple complex engagements and programs that achieve targeted and measured business goals and key results. The position of Deputy Program Manager is located in the heart of the NYC Metro region where the candidate selected for this role will be expected to reside and work in a coordinated manner to ensure proper balanced allocation of resources, individual project profitability and high client satisfaction. Manages service deliproject managers and project teams made up of employee, customer, and partner resources to deliver solutions and services. Provide oversight to project managers, client, partners to ensure the methods of developing detailed project documentation, project outlines including business and functional requirements, project plans, and project schedule are closely adhered to. Assures proper conduct, documentation, and communications of assigned project engagements. Advises executives at the highest levels on the status of the PMO portfolio. Plans, directs, and ensures the successful utilization of PMO Office resources and assigned project management teams. Maintains excellent communication with upper management both within and across organizations (Customer and internal) to ensure smooth running of all PMO engagements. Responsible for leading PMO in a mature and organization-focused manner, providing support where necessary to project the most professional image possible. Provide coaching and mentoring of team members to help them achieve KRA and QA provided improvement plans and deliverables. Assess resource loads and makes appropriate assignments.
Requirements
Requires 10 years expert experience in Project/Program Management in commercial or governmental programs. Must posses system integration knowledge tailored to large complex outsourcing programs. Should have a successful track record of performance and understand program methodology and principles. Proven leadership skills in a matrix organization structure. A Bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or Business. Training in ITIL foundations and project management is preferred
