Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Scientific Data Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Atlanta, GA. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grummans team that supports the Center for Disease Controls Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention. CDCs HIV mission is to prevent HIV infection and reduce the incidence of HIV-related illness and death, in collaboration with community, state, national and international partners. Role and Responsibilities: Direct and provide oversight to MMP data managers. Implement best practices and develop solutions as needed to promote effective data management. Responsible for quality/timeliness of all MMP deliverables. Task out work and reviews work for accuracy. Develop and implements QA Plans. Monitor data management progress. Provide guidance for edit checks on all incoming data and for analysis. Develop and implements best practices for data management. Review data management documentation for MMP. Review final data sets prior to release to project areas. Liaison with BCSB MMP management; provides routine updates. Manage data management staff (schedules leave, covers absences, provides orientation for new staff and provides training as needed). Respond to data requests. Ensure integrity of the data. Ensure all data security requirements are met. Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: Must hold Bachelors degree in mathematics, statistics, or computer science. Masters degree in Public Health, Behavioral Science, Statistics, or Social Science highly preferred. Minimum ten to twelve years relevant work experience. Minimum six years of experience performing the full complement of data management activities with a large data set that has more than 10,000 records. Data management activities include developing data dictionaries, developing and implementing quality assurance plans, receiving and processing data using encryption software, running descriptive reports, working with medical or health related data sets, creating and transferring cumulative data sets. Minimum two years experience supervising data managers, statisticians, or SAS programmers; duties must have included tasking out work assignments and ensuring that work met pre-determined quality standards. Five years of experience in importing and exporting Excel worksheets using SAS. Proficient in SAS macros, data manipulation procedures, including if statements, arrays, and Do loops. Minimum two years experience with advanced statistical procedures (logistic regression, analysis of weighted data). Minimum two years experience analyzing large data sets (greater than 10,000 records and over 1200 variable fields) using SAS. Experience with written and oral presentation of data, ability to interact with senior research staff and CDC customers. Able to understand and articulate data management processes and epidemiological analyses and interpretation of public health data. Additional Skills: Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and/or experience.
