Senior Java Engineer

This permanent Senior Java Engineer role is with an innovative marketing and advertising services company based on the Westside.

We seek a Senior Java Engineer with strong experience building Web based applications and working with relational database systems, including solid abilities in Agile techniques and Hibernate to integrate with Postgres on the back end.  Must have significant experience developing database-driven J2EE server applications.

Experience with MVC architectures is preferred and any work with Flex (in particular, BlazeDS), Spring, MySql clustering, Tomcat and/or Jetty would be very desirable.

Responsibilities 

• Responsible for developing and maintaining a large scale clustered, database-driven online platform.

• Work alongside a team to design the architecture from the ground-up, including external billing integration/microtransactions, storefront catalog content management system and a data mining system.

• Work closely with designers to develop a framework and XML-driven API for integration with the Flash-based graphical interface/fat client.

• Participate in requirements gathering, specification, and project planning. 

Requirements 

• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent

• 4+ years experience developing database-driven J2EE server applications.

• Experience with Hibernate, Spring, XSL/JiBX, J2EE cluster/session replication, distributed caching, MySQL clustering is highly preferable.

• Experience with Flash, low-latency socket servers
