Northrop Grummans Work as Senior Systems Administrator (SA) for the Information Assurance (IA) Database Suite including the Joint CERT Database (JCD), Joint Threat Incident Database (JTID), and DOD CERT Incident Database (DCID), on both Unclassified and Classified government networks in support of the Data Architecture Section development projects. Position requires proficiency in Windows SA procedures, tools, and techniques. Provide direct support to SA operations and to the resolution of customer/user accounts and network functionality required to support the IA Database Suite. Assist in the architecture development and engineering to support change management of the IA Database Suites networked systems as new capabilities and requirements are levied. Responsible for installations, upgrades and routine maintenance of the hardware and operating systems on all Windows and Unix servers and devices that comprise the IA Database Suite architecture. Installation/ Configuration/ Maintenance of IA Database Suite Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) site hardware and network connectivity; update, maintain and implement the hardware, software, and data feed requirements; install and/or assist in the installation of the system at the COOP site include providing engineering support to establish connectivity and maintain the COOP site; migrate data, establish connectivity and perform failover testing. Installation/Configuration/Maintenance of the IA Database Suite lab environment at the contractor site to mirror the on-site network environment to ensure optimal JCD, JTID and DCID application functionality. Roles and Responsibilities: Work as Senior Systems Administrator (SA) for the Information Assurance (IA) Database Suite including the Joint CERT Database (JCD), Joint Threat Incident Database (JTID), and DOD CERT Incident Database (DCID), on both Unclassified and Classified government networks in support of the Data Architecture Section development projects. Position requires proficiency in Windows SA procedures, tools, and techniques. Provide quality, on-site SA support for DISAs NetDefense and JTF-GNO databases to include maintaining and troubleshooting databases and establishing and implementing effective database quality assurance (QA) standards. Create user accounts; run Oracle recommended performance and backup scripts. Support Ad hoc requests from customers and users; run custom queries and reports. Contribute to on-time completion of quality deliverables. Submit Weekly Custom Query Report. Develop system performance management reports and Weekly Issues Report. Define, document, implement, and maintain SA procedures for the environment. Provide inputs and receive tasking as provided by the Data Architecture Section Project Manager. Support DB application and web interface deployment, as needed. Assist in training new or more junior level SAs, as required. Assume leadership role, as situation requires, such as in solving System Level technical problems for the JTF-GNO, NetDefense databases. Support COOP architecture planning and implementation. Work as the on site engineer for the project, which may include providing on-site Windows and Unix systems administration, network engineering and network support on both Unclassified and Classified government networks. Responsibilities include: setting up RAID on Solaris/Windows servers, installing recommended patches, installing security patches, securing Windows and Unix servers and associated databases and applications according to current Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and Security Readiness Review (SRR) requirements. Monitoring system usage and performance, including the management of backup and recovery of the operating system, and supporting file systems and large database storage in a data center environment. Capacity planning and providing guidance on equipment upgrades and replacement requirements. Performing backup and recovery of the C2G suite, archiving audit logs from the C2G suite, keeping SRR reviews current for the C2G suite, and monitoring the C2G for files that require intervention. Managing IA Database Suite servers by keeping SRR reviews current, managing server auditing functions, managing server space utilization, performing backup and recovery functions for the IA Database Suite, managing data feed for Low to High transfers, and assisting other SAs with Oracle SA requirements as necessary. Installation/ Configuration/ Integration/ Maintenance of additional GOTS/COTS applications and utilities such as Cognos and Sendmail. Provide primary interface to vendor support service groups; conduct performance analysis and tuning of the Windows and Unix operating system, hardware and associated software products; perform other installations, upgrades and patches as required; write scripts using Shell or Perl to automate routine administration tasks; create and maintain procedure documents and generate Weekly, Monthly and Annual Operational Status Reports. Must be able to understand customers business functions and translate into technology specifications. Ability to work with limited supervision. Must be willing to work in a team environment in the completion of multiple tasks. Position requires good customer relation and interaction skills Minimum Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below: BSCS or related degree, Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related scientific or technical discipline is preferred. 6 years with Bachelors; 4 years with Masters or 14 years experience in lieu of degree Position requires a current TS/SCI Clearance Preferred Qualifications: BSCS or related degree, Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related scientific or technical discipline is preferred. Eight (8) years experience preferred. Oracle certifications desired. MCSE in Windows 2003 and experience on Windows family operating and application administration is a plus. Have excellent communication skills and experience dealing with people from various educational, technical, functional and managerial backgrounds. Experience with remote access technologies, computer networking, operating systems, application and network architecture/ engineering knowledge, IDS, DMS, Firewall technology, Virtual Private Networks, and security.
