Solution Architect

Currently seeking a Solution Architect for its largest client.  The successful candidate will be involved in strategizing, planning, architecting, and deploying master plans and solutions for the entire client environment.  This individual will join one of the fastest growing teams in the industry to provide strategic, and tactical technical leadership.  The candidate will be responsible for working with Senior level technical and business resources from the client and OneNeck to understand business needs and provide advice on the best technical solutions to meet the needs. 

Position Description:

• Provide strategic and tactical vision to client senior management.


• Provide strategic and tactical direction to the OneNeck and client technical staff.


• Develop, maintain, and document all systems architecture at the hardware, OS, and application framework level.


• Develop and maintain strong working relationships among departments especially working across the client Operations Management team.


• Promote the corporate culture of personal responsibility, teamwork, and focus on meeting client needs.


• Plan and direct the number and disposition of department personnel as needed to deliver on projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Provide strategic and tactical vision to client senior management.


• Provide strategic and tactical direction to the OneNeck and client technical staff.


• Develop, maintain, and document all systems architecture at the hardware, OS, and application framework level.


• Develop and maintain strong working relationships among departments especially working across the client Operations Management team.


• Promote the corporate culture of personal responsibility, teamwork, and focus on meeting client needs.


• Plan and direct the number and disposition of department personnel as needed to deliver on projects.

30% Works on developing a detailed strategic IT systems roadmap for client.

• Provide IT systems architectural leadership to the client and the OneNeck management team in a large-scale multi-system and multi-application environment.


• Develops a deep understanding of business and technical IT requirements of the clients multiple business units.


• Works in collaboration with client Application solution architects, senior client IT staff and OneNeck staff to develop short, medium and long term strategic IT systems roadmaps.


• Communicates and evangelizes client IT systems strategic roadmap among client IT and business unit management.


• Facilitates periodic senior client and OneNeck management IT Strategy Round Table sessions.


• Remains informed of new IT technology developments and trends; makes recommendations to management on desirable additions and developments.

50% Develops detail architecture designs for specific solutions. Develops tactical deployment plans for new or improvement projects, usually with multiple computer environments where design is complex. Expertise and work efforts focus on the design and planning of application, database, server and network infrastructure.

• Work closely with the client to define project requirements and create associated Statements of Work.


• Develops and documents new systems solutions or customizes existing systems to meet OneNeck and customer needs.


• Estimates time frames, quality and quantity of resources required to successfully implement project; develops project plan incorporating all project variables.


• Establishes criteria concerning deliverability, performance, maintenance, design and costs.


• Conducts periodic status checks with customers and team to assess progress against plan, focusing on quality of deliverables.

20% Provides senior management support in the following areas:

• Defines and maintains client technology standards and best practices.


• Provide cross-functional leadership to resolve critical client problems.


• Provide routine status reports to senior management.

Work Experience: 

• Minimum 15 years of IT experience, preferably some of those years in consulting.


• Minimum 7 years in management.


• Minimum 5 years each in understanding workings of Oracle and SQL environments including overview of the Oracle and SQL Applications Framework, Architecture and Technology stack.

Education:

• Four-year degree or equivalent in a related discipline (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering).

• Practiced in teamwork and initiative-building techniques.


• Experienced with formal project planning and management, including use of MS Project


• Seasoned in Information Technology methodologies and practices.


• Experienced in operating in a continuous improvement mode.


• Prefer familiarity with ITIL standards and practices, or analogous IT service standards and benchmarks.

Travel Requirements: 

• Must be available for international travel.


• Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.


• Ability to readily obtain a driver’s license and passport, if not already in their possession.


• Ability to readily rent vehicles from all major car rental agencies.


• Ability to readily reserve and pay for airline tickets, hotel accommodations, car rentals and all other aspects of travel.
