Manager, Technology - MS Commerce Server 2009
Candidates willing to travel 100% will be considered. Candidates with a major consulting firm background are preferred.
Job Summary:
The Manager, Technology (Architect/Development Manager) will oversee the development, design, user interface, technology integration, and site architecture management. Additionally, this role will be responsible for managing technology teams from definition phase through implementation, as well as contribute to the sales cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use deep understanding of OO design principles to create custom software solutions or modify package solutions
- Translate the client’s business requirements into systems design
- Work with the client’s IT organization to establish technology strategy at an application level
- Establish high, mid and micro level plans and set technical direction for a team of up to 30 people working both on and off shore
- Lead the estimation effort for projects and work to identify and manage risk
- Prepare elements of sales proposals to represent COMPANY’s technical expertise
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required
- 8+ years of programming skills in .Net and Microsoft technologies (SQL Server, Web Services, etc.)
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 or 2008
- 2+ years of E-commerce development experiences using MS Commerce Server platform version 2007
- Familiarity in all of the following subsystems
- Orders System (High priority item)
- Marketing System (High priority item)
- Catalog System
- Inventory System
- Profiles System
- Ability to integrate Commerce Server with Other LOB (lines of business, or backend business) Systems
- Knowledge of data migration from existing E-Commerce system (products, catalog, or order data) to Microsoft Commerce server
- Knowledge of customizations of the Commerce Server Management Tools
- Strong understanding of retail business requirements and familiarity with retail technologies
- End to end knowledge of designing systems, developing applications and deploying applications with medium to complex business functions and fine tuning the application for optimum performance
- Understanding of the project life cycle process to effectively be able to manage a sub-team through the complexities of the business solution.
- Strong leaderships skills including mentoring and team guidance
- Openness to overnight travel
- Prior experience in a consulting firm preferred.
- Strong and effective communication skills
- Knowledge of SharePoint will be an added advantage.
- Working with Commerce Server and SharePoint to manage and deploy content with commerce feature
- Working on API structures that utilize Commerce Server and SharePoint stack
- Knowledge of multiple technologies including (but not limited to): J2EE, CGI, HTML, DHTML, XML, JavaScript, Java, Visual Basic, PL/SQL, Oracle Developer 2000 tools, C/C++, Perl, TCL, RDBMS, CORBA, COM/DCOM, Flash, and Shockwave
