Requirements for this position are related to the design of compressors for refrigeration products with an emphasis on hermetic motors, starters, variable speed drive (VSD) application and protection. Duties include working with compressor mechanical designers, controls engineers and suppliers to specify, start, control and protection requirements and also to qualify compressor motors. New motor technology, motor cost, special application with VSD, interaction with advanced bearing systems and protection, and reliability are important areas of expertise.
