The primary responsibility of a product definer is to define new integrated circuits for displays: LCD, OLED, e-paper, etc. The successful candidate should have designed mixed-signal circuits at the board level. This person should also have broad knowledge of available integrated circuits and excellent communication skills. Specific knowledge of video and display system design is a big plus.
