The focus of this group is in the creation of test plan, test cases, creating the use-cases that stress the product etc. There will be a test automation component within this role, but the expectation is that this will remain a minor portion of the team's responsibility. However, much of the product functionality falls under the more "classic" QA model where development create unit tests, and the QA organization create the additional white box, black box, and system tests needed to provide acceptable test coverage.
