Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with a defined list of top advisors in assigned territory.  Responsible for establishing relationships with the largest Plan Sponsors within assigned advisors to drive better plan health and participant retirement readiness insupport of overall goal of plan levelretention.  Lead the successful implementation of new plans within their assigned advisor caseload.  Serves as the primary point of contact for assigned plans; the strategic partner providing consultative, value-based service, leading plans in achieving optimal plan health at all times with successful participant outcomes.  Responsible for coordinating and, as needed, providingenrollment and education meetings for plans within assigned advisor segmentation focused on encouraging employee participation in the retirement plan.

Job Description

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to Manager or Director, Client Relationship Management. 



  • Acts as strategic partner with advisors and plan sponsors through frequent touchpoints regarding their plans. Organizes, facilitates and prepares plan health status reports of those plans, objectives set and execution of those objectives with the Advisor and Plan Sponsor.  Keeps Advisor and Plan Sponsor informed on all current and future enhancements that will be introduced and how those will impact our mutual clients.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with all key parties of assigned case load.  This includes assigned Advisors, Plan Sponsors and Third Party Administrators, as well as internal partners and stakeholders.
  • Assists and participates in Point of Sale opportunities with Regional Vice President partner to help drive the sale through positioning of our service model and the future experience of the Plan Sponsor and Plan Participants.
  • Assists in executing successful implementation of assigned plans, to ensure smooth transition. 
  • Provides training to Advisors, Plan Sponsors and Participants of the tools and resources on the Internet Service Center.
  • Presents information to existing and potential participants on products that may be available in the plan.
  • Addresses any escalated issues with/for the Advisor and/or Plan Sponsor of any assigned plans.
  • Develops and Implements an Education and Service plan with Plan Sponsors of assigned case load.  This Plan outlines goals and objectives of the plan and tracking the execution of that plan on an ongoing basis.  Provides ongoing feedback regarding service delivery results, product capabilities and client expectations.
  • Designs and coordinates participant campaigns with the client, in line with the Education and Service plan to focus on participant needs and retirement readiness.
  • Coordinates and occasionally conducts initial enrollment meetings aimed at educating plan sponsors and potential plan participants, focusing on the value of participating in their retirement plan, as well as maximizing plan participation levels.  Helps plan participants increase their retirement readiness.
  • Coordinates and occasionally conducts ongoing education meetings in accordance with established Education and Service Plan.  Coordinates the ongoing education meetings with plan participants to educate potential and existing participants, drive participation in plans and increase retirement readiness of plan participants. Partnering with the Advisor, continuously helps ensure participants have the tools and resources to prepare for retirement.
  • Contributes to and participates in projects and Advisory Board work designed to enhance delivery and make recommendations for improvement for initiatives across the business.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Education:  Undergraduate studies in business or finance or related fields preferred.

License/Certification/Designation: FINRA 6, 63, 65 (or 7/66) Required.  Associates must obtain the required Federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit.  Additional licenses/registrations may be required when new products and services are implemented.  If an associate fails or is unable to obtain requiredlicenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position. Designations such as AIF and other Retirement Plan designations are strongly encouraged.

Experience:  Seven to Ten years in the financial services industry, with at least 5 years focused on Retirement Plans.  Experience managing relationships with Advisor and Plan Sponsors of Retirement Plans

Knowledge:  In-depth understanding of the retirement plan business.  Knowledge of building successful client relationships and managing a territory and caseload of Advisor and Plan Sponsor clients from an internal desk. Knowledge of products and related industry practices and procedures. Working knowledge of ERISA, qualified plan design, recordkeeping, administration and planinvestments and account implementation. Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements and quality standards.

Skills/Competencies:  Ability to establish and maintain key relationships with top clients.  Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills to transfer knowledge and technical data in an understandable manner to internal stakeholders and external stakeholders including Advisors, Third Party Administrators, Plan Sponsors, and all levels of corporate associates. Attention to detail, learning agility, time management, technical, and negotiation skills.  Ability to drive successful results in a fast-paced environment. Ability to learn and execute processes and procedures. Ability to analyze client performance, develop retention strategy and provide solutions to complex and sensitive service problems and client business requirements. Strong project management and organizational skills. Proficient in using computers and related common office software and other applicable business applications.
